What is Required to Use SMS Functionality?

The SMS feature is a key tool for MsgBox to achieve omnichannel customer acquisition and critical notification reach. Due to carrier regulatory requirements, enabling this feature requires meeting specific version, qualification, and billing prerequisites.


1. Subscription Requirements

The SMS broadcast feature is currently supported by the following MsgBox subscription tiers:

  • Trial
  • Professional
  • Enterprise

2. Business Qualifications and Regional Restrictions

Depending on the location of your business entity, there are strict restrictions on the sending range of SMS:

Qualification Readiness Checklist

You need to prepare and submit the following information for carrier review:

  • Scanned copy of the Business License.
  • Identification information of the legal representative and the administrator.
  • Power of Attorney for SMS sending (templates provided if applicable).

3. Billing Rules and Credit Consumption

MsgBox SMS functionality operates on a prepaid model, with costs deducted from your Credit balance.

  • Consumption Standard: Typically, each SMS consumes 1 Credit.
  • Balance Management: Please ensure your account has sufficient Credits.

Sending Limits and Standards
  • Character Limit: The limit for a single SMS is 78 characters. If the message body (including variables) exceeds this limit, the carrier will automatically split it into multiple messages and deduct Credits accordingly.
  • Pre-approval: All SMS signatures (e.g., 【MsgBox】) and SMS templates must pass manual review before they can be officially sent.
